Magnetic field formulation for thermal plasma arc modelling based on extended domain approach

Thermal plasma systems utilize electric arcs to generate high-temperature fluids, crucial for material processing and various plasma-chemical applications. The applications include emerging technologies like methane reforming for hydrogen and solid carbon production, as well as conventional processes like waste gasification for energy production, destruction of recalcitrant pollutants, and synthesis of feedstock chemicals like acetylene and cyanide. In the contextof controlling the reaction dynamics and product quality, an intensive experimental program with high temperature plasma is cost prohibitive; hence a combined experimental and modelling approach is commonly preferred.
