A Practical Method for Television Assistance Control Based on Dry Electrode Brain-Computer Interface

The natural and harmonious human-machine interaction is the core of future human interaction with television, and Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology can realize direct communication between the brain and external devices, which will eliminate the limitations of physical devices. This technology not only provides convenience for people with disabilities but also enhances the television viewing experience for the general public, making it an important direction for the future development of television. This study investigated a practical method for television assistance control based on a dry electrode brain-computer interface. The key features of this method include the use of a single-lead dry electrode EEG cap to improve the convenience and reduce the cost of the brain-computer interface system. Additionally, a method for extracting EEG features is designed, which extracts modulation signal features by using the energy of low-frequency and high-frequency EEG waves, with significant differences in features across different modalities. This study also investigated a practical method for television assistance control based on a dry electrode brain-computer interface, achieving channel selection and switching through switching commands, and volume adjustment through a scroll wheel command. Through repeated testing, it has been shown that this invention can achieve basic television functions such as channel selection, channel switching, and volume adjustment based on EEG signals, with an accuracy rate of up to $94 \%$.
