Design of the ITER CCR Experiment Platform

International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) is a large-scale multilateral cooperative research project that aims to prove the feasibility of nuclear fusion energy. The Circuit Controller (CCR) plays a crucial role in integrating the poloidal field converter system with the central control system CODAC of ITER. This paper proposes a communication interface scheme required for integration into the CODAC system by analyzing the integration requirements of CCR. The integration scheme uses a signal grouping mechanism to map system data to multiple sets of networks for parallel transmission. The purpose of this method is to decouple a large number of system signals to reduce the interaction between networks, so as to improve the operational efficiency and robustness of the system. To assess the effectiveness of this scheme, a CCR experimental platform was designed for this paper. The platform simulates the actual system operating environment at the ITER site and implements the ITER 50ns low-latency clock synchronization scheme and the CCR equipment performance monitoring scheme at a lower cost and with more flexibility. The proposed CCR communication interface scheme was comprehensively tested on the experimental platform. The experimental results indicate that the scheme ensures both the validity of data in the slow communication process and the low-latency data transmission of the high-speed network interface with a 1ms cycle.
