Traveling waves in ultra-cold atomic gases

As a result of local density perturbation, oscillations propagating in an ultra-cold atomic gas are studied. The atomic ensemble is considered as a single-species plasma with an effective charge governed by fluid equations. Conditions for wave propagation are established for both isothermal and adiabatic cases. It is also found that traveling waves exist, obtained by numerically solving the Klein-Gordon equation for this system.
