Multi-objective Optimization Model of Distribution Network Fault Recovery Reconfiguration

The distribution network fault recovery reconfiguration is essential for restoring power supply to customers in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. The study has proposed a multi-objective optimization model for the reconfiguration of distribution networks in the presence of branch faults. By integrating multiple objectives, including power loss reduction and recovery operation time, the study aims to find a Pareto Front of the optimization model. An improved NSGA-II is proposed to address this issue and IEEE 118 is utilized as a case study. The results of the case studies demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in achieving a satisfactory solution that optimizes the network’s performance under various operating conditions and fault scenarios. The findings provide valuable insights for utilities and researchers involved in distribution network planning and operation and offer a useful tool for enhancing the efficiency and reliability of power distribution systems.
