A Better-Tracking and Low-Feedthrough Bootstrapped Switch

The state-of-the-art communication systems require analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) to sample analog signals at high speed with high accuracy. Traditional bootstrapped switch suffers from input-dependent on-resistance and feedthrough for high-speed sampling. This article proposes a bootstrapped switch with an auxiliary bootstrapping path and a dummy circuit to solve the above problems. The proposed switch has been designed in a standard 16-nm FinFET technology and verified by simulation. The proposed bootstrapped switch demonstrates a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of $\mathbf{5 4} \mathrm{dB}$ of the sampled signal while the sampling frequency is 8 GHz and the signal frequency is 30.046875GHz. The SFDR increases by 4 dB compared to the traditional design.
