Real-Time Evaluation and Automatic Generation Control of High-proportion Renewable Energy Virtual Power Plant

With the increasing integration of renewable energy sources in virtual power plant (VPP), maintaining the real-time frequency at the desired level becomes a challenge. To solve this problem, this paper presents a novel real-time evaluation and an automatic generation control (AGC) method to improve the dynamic performance and flexibility of VPP. The method includes the real-time evaluation system for flexible resources, the multi-objective optimization for AGC command allocation, and the threshold updating algorithm based on the optimization results. This method can effectively improve the regulation performance while minimizing frequency regulation costs and ensuring effective management of stochastic power disturbances.
