Improved Sliding Mode Control Strategy for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

The traditional vector control system of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) is easy to cause violent fluctuation of speed and current when subjected to external disturbance. In order to solve the above problems, an improved sliding mode control (SMC) method is introduced into the vector control system of PMSM. Firstly, an improved SMC was designed and applied to the speed loop. Secondly, the Q-axis current controller is designed based on SMC. Finally, the improved SMC system was compared with the PI vector control system and the traditional SMC vector control system by Matlab/simulink simulation. The comparison results show that the improved control system can effectively reduce the overshoot and enhance the anti-interference ability.
