Research on Distribution Network Fault Interval Location Based on Multiple Populations Genetic Algorithm

With the popularisation of distribution network automation equipment and the development of distributed power technology, the fault information collected by the automation equipment is of great importance for the accurate positioning of distribution network fault interval location. This paper investigates the problem of including distorted fault information in distribution network fault interval location in active distribution networks. Firstly, the design of distribution network fault interval location with multiple population genetic algorithms (MPGA) is carried out, mainly considering the fault current coding and the fault coding considering the fault direction problem; secondly, the problem of constructing a switching function and fitness function between a switching fault current overflow case and a line fault state; finally, the improved IEEE 33-node system is simulated and tested under the occurrence of single and multiple faults with distortion scenario information. The simulation results fully validate the effectiveness of the MPGA.
