Research on Relationship between Material Transfer and High Frequency Characteristics of DC Arc Plasma

The electrical signals of DC arc exhibit high frequency pulse characteristics [1]. There are material transfer and surface erosion phenomena between the cathode and anode [2], [3], [4], [5]. This study conducted detailed observations and analysis of the electrode surface morphology and chemical composition under different current levels and material combinations using field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Relationship between surface micro-morphology, material transfer, and high-frequency characteristics under DC arc plasma are investigated.
