A Review of Efficiency Improvement Strategies of DC Microgrid

With the development of distributed energy, microgrids are widely studied and applied. DC microgrids have received more and more attention because of their simple structure and higher efficiency compared with AC microgrids. This paper presents a review of DC microgrid efficiency improving strategies and conducts a comprehensive discussion from voltage level selection, converter efficiency improvement to system-level efficiency improving strategies. In the planning stage, selecting the appropriate voltage level, system configuration and high-efficiency converter topology; in the operation stage, designing the modulation control method of the converter and designing the control strategy for the whole system to achieve more efficient power distribution can effectively improve the efficiency of the DC microgrid.
