Dynamics Modeling and Analysis of Lifting and Laying System for High-Voltage Submarine Cables under the Action of Wind, Waves, and Currents

During offshore operations of crane ships, the lifting and laying of submarine cable repair joints are subject to environmental loads, leading to significant swing, which increases the difficulty and risk of the operation. This paper employs hydrodynamic analysis software, based on the lumped mass method and nonlinear time-domain analysis, combined with the motion status of the crane ship, to study the coupled system of crane ship and load. By comparing the dynamic response of the system under static and dynamic conditions of the crane ship, this paper focuses on analyzing the force conditions at the end of the submarine cable and the joint box, providing guidance for the control and prediction of the lifting and laying operation of the repair joint box.
