An Advanced YOLOv7 Model for Vehicle Detection to Enhance the Security of Public Places

Vehicle detection is discussed in detail using the YOLOv7 model based on an advanced deep learning approach, which demonstrates excellent performance as a vehicle detector under different conditions. A crucial feature of this study is the implementation of YOLOv7 - a model known for its speed and precision in object detection tasks. We painstakingly trained and tested the model on a very broad dataset which resulted in an excellent performance. The model highly performed in the detection with an accuracy of 98.35%, a testimony on its utility to detect various items under complex circumstances. Parallel to this, the model exhibite a low loss percentage of 0.3321 which translates into effectiveness in minimizing losses during detection time. To clarify the performance of this model, we included a comprehensive quantitative analysis by including precision-recall curves and also a confusion matrix. These analysis not only support the high-precision but also provide information on the strengths and weaknesses of model in multiple vehicular situations. Notably, a comparative analysis with the older Yolo versions and also other popular deep learning models in vehicle detection was also carried out. This comparison, which is illustrated through a set of graphs and tables, clearly highlight the evolution progress and precedence in terms of accuracy as well as speed over The YOLOv7 model. Practical implications of these findings are large for a number of different applications that include autonomous driving, traffic management and also planning cities.
