Radial Systems Including DGS Distribution Loss Allocation Using PSO Algorithm

This paper describes about the distribution loss allocation is now crucial to ensuring effective energy distribution due to the rising demand for power and the incorporation of renewable energy sources into distribution system. This project suggests a way to use Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to minimize losses in distribution networks. The innovative technique for allocating distribution power losses in DGs is presented in this research. The proposed approach consists of nine steps and is based on power flow results, taking into account both the active and reactive power flows of lines for loss allocation and calculates the ideal size of distributed generation (DG) units for real power losses in a distribution system using particle swarm optimization (PSO). First, a swarm of randomly initiated particles representing various DG sizes is introduced into the solution space. The algorithm updates the best solutions discovered thus far by iteratively evaluating the actual power losses and comparing them to target values. Based on the fitness of each solution, the algorithm iteratively improves the particle locations and velocities until it finally converges to the ideal DG sizes. Upon reaching the predetermined number of repetitions, the algorithm yields the optimal DG size. By providing a methodical way to optimize DG sizes, this technique guarantees effective distribution loss allocation. The suggested method's use is demonstrated in several modules, and the outcomes are contrasted with those obtained using GA techniques.
