Experimental5G-NR-V2X Evaluation in a Real-Life Highway and Proving Ground Environment

This article details the experimental 5G-NR-V2X evaluation in a real-life highway and proving ground. We propose a system capable of evaluating and validating the effectiveness of autonomous driving services. This evaluation is conducted in an actual road test setting using OBU and RSU for 5G-NR-V2X communication, which requires a minimum level of 4 (level 4 or higher), an extremely high speed (150Mbps or more), minimal delay (3ms or less), and a high level of reliability (99.99 percent) to ensure robust communication even in malicious scenarios. The present study introduces the 5G-NR-V2X communication system and its experimental assessment, which are expected to contribute to the advancement of V2X communication technologies characterized by exceptional speed, minimal latency, and strong reliability. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the utilization of the recommended performance analysis technique will augment technical competitiveness within the road, transportation, logistics, and commerce sectors through the validation of services and the testing of case scenarios.
