An Adaptive Switching Controller for a Hybrid Electric Vehicle

Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) have significant attention due to their potential to address the pressing need for transportation systems that are both efficient and environmentally friendly. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving the total effectiveness of energy. This paper presents a simulation study focusing on various scenarios of switching modes between EV and ICE. Using a MATLAB/Simulink® environment, the findings are validated through comprehensive simulations. A comparative analysis is conducted, specifically evaluating variables such as vehicle speed, battery SOC, and fuel. The following analysis presents the performance characteristics of different types of hybrid vehicle topologies. Based on these findings, the paper proposes the development of a Fuzzy PID controller for an adaptive switching controller in HEV. The simulation results are analyzed, and results are presented.
