Real Time Monitoring System for Bacterial Contamination in Drinking Water using Embedded Technology

Monitoring water quality is essential to guaranteeing clean, safe drinking water. In this paper, an innovative embedded system for the continuous monitoring and early identification of bacterial contamination in drinking water is presented. In order to thoroughly evaluate water quality characteristics, the system combines state-of-the-art sensor technology with a variety of sensors, including temperature, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and pH sensors. Arduino microcontrollers provide the foundation of the system, enabling smooth component control and communication. The suggested system is accessible and easy to use since it uses an LCD display to show real-time data on water quality. A UV LED is turned on for water disinfection when contamination is found, guaranteeing an automated and proactive response to microbiological risks. A Node MCU facilitates wireless connectivity, enabling smooth data transfer and integration with an Internet of Things (IoT) platform-more especially, Ubidots. Remote monitoring, data storage, and analysis are made possible by this integration, giving consumers instant access to vital information regarding the quality of the water. The embedded system provides a comprehensive and cutting-edge solution in an effort to overcome the shortcomings of traditional water monitoring techniques.
