Design and Implementation of Low Power 3-Bit Encoder Using Memristor on LT Spice

The utilization of memristors in the design of digital logic gates presents a promising alternative to current IC architectures. By leveraging memristors, there is potential for increased transistor density on chips, as they can be integrated atop the polysilicon gate of NMOS transistors, simplifying manufacturing processes. Furthermore, the implementation of MRL gates, such as in the proposed 3-bit encoder, demonstrates advantages in power dissipation when compared to traditional CMOS designs. This encoder serves as a versatile tool for modeling various combinational logic circuits, with this paper focusing on the detailed design and analysis of a 3-bit encoder using different logic configurations through LT Spice simulations. The purpose of the low power 3-bit encoder is to convert a 3-bit binary input into a one-hot encoded output. It is designed for low-power applications, aiming to minimize energy consumption while maintaining accurate and efficient encoding. This project aims to design a low-power 3-bit encoder using memristor technology, exploring its potential for energy-efficient digital circuitry. Memristors, emerging electronic components with unique characteristics, offer opportunities for novel circuit designs. The objective is to create an encoder that converts 3-bit binary inputs into a specified output format while minimizing power consumption. The project involves circuit design, memristor characterization, simulation, power analysis, and comparative evaluation against conventional designs. By showcasing the advantages of memristors in energy-efficient encoding, this work contributes to the advancement of modern electronics and provides insights into the practical applications of memristor technology.
