Towards Panoptic Segmentation Integration for SLAM with Unmanned Aerial Vehicle: A Survey

Computer vision has emerged as a prominent study field in recent years, with practical applications in the current era. Image segmentation is a major research field in computer vision. Within the field of image segmentation, there is an advanced method known as Panoptic Segmentation. Researchers have been endeavoring to develop panoptic segmentation and its practical implementation. An application that is highly desired is enhancing the performance of Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) through the utilization of image segmentation. This work aims to investigate the potential for using panoptic segmentation into SLAM.
