LNA Design for Low Noise and High Performance in 180nm Cadence Technology

This paper focuses on the design and implementation of Inductive Source Degeneration Low Noise Amplifier circuit for RF receiver applications using Cadence Virtuoso tool. The goal is to maximize gain(S21) while minimizing noise figure(NF) to improve the RF receiver system's overall performance and sensitivity. Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) is an essential part of the signal chain, liable for boosting weak entering signals with the least amount of extra noise. The suggested LNA circuit optimizes the trade-off between gain and noise figure by using an active biasing Cascode arrangement. To achieve effective integration with contemporary RF systems, the design makes use of cutting-edge CMOS technology. To increase the properties of gain and bandwidth, inductive source degeneration technique is used, and feedback techniques are used to improve stability. The proposed LNA shows the measured results including a 19.10dB high gain(S21), a 1.01dB noise figure(NF) and a 3.289 stability (Kf) at 2.4 GHz, respectively.
