Design and Implementation of a Web-Based Network Teaching Management System Based on B/S Architecture

This paper presents the design and implementation of a web-based network teaching management system tailored for universities. The system was developed by first conducting a survey and analysis to determine the functional requirements of three user categories: students, teachers, and administrators. Six major functional modules, including user management and course management, were designed based on these requirements. The system ensures high availability through a dual-machine hot backup network topology. It employs a three-tier architecture consisting of Browser, Server, and Database layers, utilizing the J2EE and MySQL software platforms for construction. Proper data modeling techniques were employed during database design. The system was developed using a modular JavaEE programming approach to implement the functional modules. Finally, load testing was conducted to confirm that the system meets performance requirements for concurrent access by up to 3000 users. The research demonstrates that the system effectively supports large-scale online education by providing comprehensive teaching management features that enhance the quality and efficiency of both teaching and administration.
