New materials for optical fibres based on oxochloride lead-tellurite glasses

Glasses in the $\mathrm{PbCl}_{2}-\mathrm{TeO}_{2}$ system were synthesized from high-purity starting materials. The glasses have record low absorption of hydroxyl groups, wide range of transparency and good crystallization stability. The materials are promising for drawing optical fibers.
