Terahertz Spectroscopy of blood plasma for cancer diagnosis

Early cancer detection can be achieved by analyzing blood plasma. Here we propose ways to improve the sensitivity of terahertz time-domain spectroscopy to cancer diagnosis. Two approaches are being considered to lessen the effect of water, which determines the spectrum of blood plasma: lyophilization and numerical processing. Additionally, several machine learning algorithms are proposed to process measured spectra. And the final approach is based on the use of nanoantennas to diagnose tumor marker concentrations.
