Spectral and Energy Characteristics of Picosecond SRS in Heavy Water

The forward and backward stimulated Raman scattering (FSRS, BSRS) in heavy water was studied when excited by the second harmonic radiation of a picosecond (60 ps) Nd:YAG laser. Generation was obtained in the Stokes region at 5 wavelengths in the spectral range of 566 – 723 nm and in the anti-Stokes region at 4 wavelengths in the spectral range of 427 - 474 nm. The maximum energy efficiency of SRS conversion reached 5%.
