Abstract:

This paper reviews the history of three classic designs of antennas elements, the Uda-Yagi antennas, developed in the 1920s, helix, introduced in the 1940s, and the log-periodic initiated in the 1950s. These three classic configurations, introduced in three different decades, formed the foundation for future advancements and upgrades in their radiation characteristics, and sparked conceptions of alternate designs.
