New Paradigm For Fiber Optics Communication

In this paper, we introduce a novel optical communication paradigm that uses femtosecond mode-locked lasers carrier wave and spatial light modulators for communication. Our paradigm leverages properties of femtosecond lasers for high speed and secure data transmission. While previous literature has explored the potential of femtosecond lasers, little research has focused on developing communication based on this technology especially the carrier envelope phase inherent to a femtosecond laser pulse. To validate the feasibility of our new paradigm we perform simulations investigating the impact of spectrum manipulation on ultrashort pulses. We also study dispersion assessment of the carrier envelope phase of ultrashort lasers. The understanding of carrier envelope phase shift contributes to the development of compensation method, and also enhance network security. We use the simulation to assess the behavior of ultrashort lasers to detect the tampering of the transmission medium. It is important to point out that it is only recently that carrier envelope locked lasers have been demonstrated experimentally at a few laboratories. Our paradigm is motivated by finding a solution to the capacity limitations of optical communications and introduces a new layer of security. It holds significant potential for high-speed data networks, secure communication, and the future of communication infrastructure.
