Implementation of an Enhanced Antenna Array Loaded with EMA/ADC and ITC-Egypt 2024 Sign-Shape Slots Defected Microstrip Structures (DMS)

In this paper, an improved parameters of 1 ×4 rectangular microstrip linear array antenna loaded with Defected Microstrip Structure (DMS) are introduced.The DMS includes Defected Patch Structures (DPS) and Defected Ground Structures (DGS) for antenna parameters improvement. These structures include two signs of the Egyptian Military Academy (EMA) as DGS, two of the Air Defense College (ADC), and two of the International Telecommunication Conference Egypt 2024 signs (ITC-Egypt 2024) as DPS, with a total of six DMS for antenna array parameters enhancement. The Improved Return Loss (IRL) percentage refers to the return loss improvement of the array loaded with DMS compared to the array without loading it once.Also, the Enhanced Bandwidth Ratio (EBR) is the ratio between defected array and a non-defected array. The array loaded with DMS introduces RL=-23.96 dB, B.W=0.18 GHz, IRL=23.42 %, and EBWR=6 at f=2.48 GHz for inter-telecommunication systems and wireless applications. Also, eight operating frequencies have been obtained using these DMS technique for the proposed array.An agreement between simulation and implementation results has been introduced for the proposed 1 x4 antenna array. The proposed array was studied and analyzes by HFSS simulator and then fabricated using a dielectric material FR4 with dielectric constant Er=4.5 and a height of h =1.6mm.A proto-laser machine fabricated the DMS with a precision of 25µm in theLab.
