The gap between the expectations of Gen Z and Organizations in Industry 4.0

This study explores the gap between the expectations of Generation Z (Gen Z) and the practices of organizations in the context of Industry 4.0. To better understand this misalignment, the researchers conducted both qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys. The qualitative analysis focused on exploring the multifaceted expectations of Gen Z concerning workplace dynamics, technological integration, and organizational culture. Meanwhile, the quantitative data highlighted the specific areas where Gen Z's expectations and organizational strategies differed. The findings revealed significant discrepancies, particularly in areas such as flexible work arrangements, skill development opportunities, and ethical considerations surrounding technological advancement. These differences may lead to challenges in recruiting and retaining employees. The study emphasizes the need for organizations to adapt to better accommodate Gen Z's expectations, creating an environment that fosters innovation and productivity within the framework of Industry 4.0.
