Exploring Social Dynamics in the Information Society

The emergence of the information society as a conceptual framework underscores the profound impact of information and communication technologies (ICTs) on contemporary societal structures. This study integrates notions of social networks and the effect of different social ties to elucidate the intricate dynamics of digital communication within this paradigm. This aim of the study is to contribute to the ongoing discourse on the information society, offering insights into the multifaceted nature of human interaction and the evolving role of ICTs in shaping modern societies. In order to achieve the goal, a quantitative research methodology was employed, utilizing an online questionnaire to collect data from a diverse sample of 760 respondents. Findings reveal significant differences in social behaviour and interaction patterns between individuals with varying levels of social contact. Notably, despite increased social interaction, there is a lack of clear association between quantity of social contacts and quality of interpersonal relationships, raising important questions about the nature of social interactions in contemporary society.
