WiFi Testing and Analysis Based on Interference Scenarios

With the gradual popularity of intelligent devices in people’s daily life, the wireless network data traffic that devices rely on is growing explosively. In order to achieve full network coverage and improve network capacity, a large number of wireless access points (AP) are deployed to shopping malls, hotels, stations, campuses and other crowded places. However, the wireless spectrum resources are limited, and the intensive deployment of Wi-Fi networks will inevitably lead to channel competition among a large number of AP. When there are overlapping areas in the coverage of AP, the interference between adjacent AP will greatly deteriorate the performance of edge users and even the entire network, resulting in low user experience. Therefore, how to effectively test and evaluate the external interference and anti-interference ability of intelligent networking equipment (including terminal and AP) plays an important role in improving user experience and optimizing network structure. This work starts from the actual interference scenario of wireless communication, based on the full anechoic chamber, programmable attenuator, directional antenna and multi-user Wi-Fi simulator, reproduce the actual interference environment in the laboratory. For the whole Wi-Fi equipment, by accurately controlling the interference channel and communication channel, comprehensively considering the influence of electromagnetic environment interference and Wi-Fi channel competition mechanism, the test of mutual interference competition between different Wi-Fi AP is completed. Finally, normalize the throughput to realize the quantitative characterization and analysis of the anti-interference and external interference capabilities of Wi-Fi devices. This work proposes a more accurate, easy and reliable Wi-Fi equipment anti-interference and external interference test method, which aims to solve the problems of the traditional Wi-Fi equipment wireless air interface interference performance index test using many instruments and equipment, the complexity of the test method and the disconnection of the actual business.
