Magnetoelectric Basic Logic Element for Neuromorphic Computing

This research focuses on the application of magnetoelectric structures for neuromorphic computing. Magnetoelectrics is the class of multiferroic substances in which under the action of an alternating magnetic field is appeared of an electric polarization or vice versa under the action of an alternating electric field, the magnetization is changed. Based on the constructed mathematical model, the dispersion characteristics of forward volume spin waves were obtained, the change in which under the influence of an external electric field led to a change in the phase distance between the inputs of the model. A controlled phase change between the extreme values of π–2π made it possible to move on to a model of magnetoelectric basic logic element, which demonstrated the possibility of an electronically controlled change in its functional purpose: XOR or OR.
