The Multi-beam Technology in LEO Satellite Communications

The multi-beam technology plays an important role in the low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications. Different from the communication array of geosynchronous satellite in geostationary earth orbit (GEO), the LEO satellite communication array should keep continuous tracking with the ground terminals. It is well known that in order to keep the steady link between rapid moving satellite and random ground mobile phone multi-beam technology is regarded as the best solution. In this paper, the multiple-beam tecology was introduced and some important aspects were discussed. The expectation for the trend of multiple-beam tecology in the phased array in LEO satellite-mobile communications is present.
