Gyro-multipliers Based on MW-level Gyrotrons

Based on numerical simulations within an averaged self-consistent model, we analyze the possibility of developing sources of high-frequency CW radiation based on the effect of frequency multiplication in MW-level gyrotrons intended for plasma applications. Typically, frequency multiplication in gyrotrons is characterized by an and extremely low power of radiation at cyclotron harmonics due to the non-equidistant spectrum of cylindrical waveguides standardly used for electron-wave interaction. However, in the case of high-power gyrotrons, radiation power at multiplied cyclotron harmonics can be increased, both due to higher power at the fundamental cyclotron resonance and due to more accurate fulfillment of double resonance conditions for higher-order operating modes.
