High Temperature Thermal Deformation Stability Analysis of High Power TWT Ceramic Components

High power traveling wave tube (TWT) are extremely sensitive to accuracy, and ceramic components is essential under high voltage and high efficiency conditions. Welded ceramic components is prone to high residual stress. After the residual stress is released during the operation, the deformation of ceramic components will lead to the degradation of the overall performance. In order to improve the stability and reliability of TWT, the residual stress distribution was analyzed based on thermodynamics, elastic-plastic theory and finite element (FE) method. The residual stress of welding was controlled by symmetrical stress distribution method, induced stress flow method. The results show that the welding residual stress was reduced by over 50%, which can effectively ensure the stability and reliability of high-power TWT operation.
