Research on the Evaluation of Stealth Target

It is crucial to evaluate the effectiveness of stealth technology in order to ensure its ability to reduce the detectability of target. The evaluating effectiveness of stealth is usually done by comparing the performance metrics of target with the pre-stealth and the post-stealth. There are four performance metrics that can be used to evaluate performance with the pre-stealth and the post-stealth. They are the mean radar scattering cross section (RCS), the interval range of the radar scattering cross section, the sample difference error function and the effectiveness improvement ratio. In this paper, the pre-stealth and post-stealth effects are simulated by means of software modelling. Model contains the PEC structure, dielectric structure and coating structure. The RCS value of the target in the radar system is given. It is used to determine whether the scattering capability of the target has been reduced by comparing the post-stealth RCS value with the pre-stealth RCS value. With the smaller RCS value, the target’s scattering capability for radar waves is weakened. Then, the range of intervals of the target RCS distribution is given. The minimum and maximum values of the interval are set according to the range of the RCS value with the pre-stealth and the post-stealth, moreover the interval spacing is set. It can be seen that the number of times the RCS appeared in each interval segment. Moreover, it can be seen that the highest number of times the RCS. It can determine the range of the data. In addition, the difference between the pre-stealth and post-stealth data is determined by the sample difference error function.
