Synthesized Quasi-optical Converter for 175–250GHz Gyrotron with Two Output Windows

Currently, the development of multi-frequency high-power subterahertz gyrotron complexes for electron cyclotron resonance heating and plasma diagnostics is in demand. In this regard, it is important to develop a multi-frequency radiation output system. The paper examines the prospects of using a special bidirectional quasi-optical converter for outputting radiation at several frequencies. The approach is being studied on the basis of a gyrotron with a frequency of 250GHz and a power of up to 330kW, successfully tested at the Institute of Applied Physics RAS/GYCOM. The designed output system allows output of radiation with minimal losses at five frequencies in the range of 176–250GHz with efficiency at the level of optimized single-frequency gyrotrons.
