Operating Modes of Multi-Beam Radar with Polarized Reception for Detecting Small UAVs

The operating modes of a multi-beam radar station with polarized reception when detecting small-sized airborne objects are considered. The possibility of joint operation of the radar with various systems for countering an intruder UAV in a controlled area has been demonstrated, including when working simultaneously on several objects and the possibility of using polarized reception for various modes. The paper considers options for receiving horizontally polarized and vertically polarized signals reflected from objects, which make it possible to increase the accuracy of detection and recognition of objects, including small UAVs, which are means of intrusion and violation of the confidentiality of people's private lives. The considered variants of polarized reception make it possible to reduce the computational costs of processing radar probing signals reflected from an object when detecting objects of different scales, in the mode of countering an intruder UAV, or when tracking an object using an autonomous UAV.
