Research of Broadband Signals for the Organization of a Communication Channel with UAVs

The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in various branches of human activity, leads to increased requirements for the reliability of all its elements. This is also true for the communication channel with the UAV. If we do not consider the hardware component of the communication channel, then, as is known, the reliability of the communication channel is achieved through the use of complex types of modulation and noise-resistant codes. But this path leads to a decrease in the speed of information transmission. This article discusses another approach to improving the reliability of the communication channel with UAVs- the use of broadband signals. Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Direct Sequence Spectrum Spread (DSSS) signals are used as broadband signals. Based on simulation modeling, it is shown that DSSS signals have a number of significant advantages over OFDM signals.
