The Analysis of Heterogeneous Traffic Servicing in the Cellular Internet of Things Access Node

Many services presented on the communications market have their own characteristics. Typically, services are distinguished by the amount of the necessary information transmission resource. In more complicated cases, it is required to consider the specifics of the creation of the input flows of requests, the availability of waiting for the start of service, the network access conditions, and so on. It is especially vital to develop a solution to the specified tasks while dealing with heterogeneous traffic, which is characterized by a wide range of requirements for the transmission speed of information flow. Standard methods of planning the information transmission resource often do not take into account the peculiarities of traffic formation of modern communication applications, which leads to errors in estimating the required bandwidth and non-compliance with the conditions of high-quality service for users of communication services. A reasonable solution to these problems requires the construction and analysis of new mathematical models that take into account the characteristics of joint servicing of heterogeneous traffic, with the goal of developing effective procedures to ensure the required quality of service indicators. These issues are discussed in this article, demonstrating the significance of the selected topic.
