Method for Automated Control of Frequency and Energy Resources in Wideband Communications over Deteriorating Radio Channels under Varying Transionospheric Propagation Conditions

This paper addresses the pressing scientific and technical challenge of adaptively regulating frequency and energy resources based on a study of the degradation of transionospheric radio communication channels under variable ionospheric conditions. The goal is to ensure efficiency, reliability, and stability of communication in modern satellite communications. We have developed methods and algorithms to determine the degradation time of the channel using diagnostic signals from passive sensors in satellite systems. Based on experimental results of the change rate of total electron content, we have established the recommended time for updating communication system settings due to destabilizing ionospheric factors. It was found that for a reference frequency of 1 GHz, the update period should not exceed 30 minutes during transitional time and 1.5 hours during daytime hours.
