Patient Remote Monitoring System Using MQTT Protocol for ECG Signals

The healthcare sector is increasingly benefiting from the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT), particularly in the real-time monitoring of patients’ health conditions. One notable application involves the monitoring of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. In this paper, we introduce an IoT-based ECG detection system utilizing the Pan-Tompkins algorithm to process ECG data, enabling early detection of cardiac irregularities and timely interventions. Our study showcases the utilization of IoT technology for remote ECG monitoring, leveraging the MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) protocol. The system integrates components such as ESP32, AD8232 ECG Sensor, and MQTT Cloud to facilitate the real-time storage and visualization of ECG data.
