Design of a compact dual bandpass filter designed for wireless communication system

We unveil a new compact dual-band passband filter crafted for the demands of 5 G usage. This filter relies on three identical spiral resonators interconnected regularly to confer compactness to the filter ($6.1 \times 2.3 \mathrm{~mm}^{2}$). The proposed bandpass filter utilizes for substrate ‘Rogers RT/duroid 5880’, characterized by a dielectric constant of 2.2, a low loss tangent of 0.0009, and a thickness of 0.5 mm. The proposed filter offers two passbands with resonance frequencies of 5.07 GHz and 7.24 GHz respectively, suited for wireless communications. The return loss is -28.68 dB in the initial passband and -40.77 dB in the subsequent one, while the insertion losses are only 0.19 dB and 0.56 dB correspondingly. Due to its compact size, low insertion losses, and ability to effectively filter two distinct frequency ranges, the proposed bandpass filter offers excellent performance, making it desirable for wireless communication systems, particularly for 5 G applications.
