Enhancement of the performance of solar cells based-CIGSe by using SCAPS-1D

The solar cell industry has noticed that CIGS ($\mathbf{C u}(\mathrm{In}, \mathrm{Ga}) \mathrm{Se} 2$) thin-film solar cells have the potential to produce solar cells and modules at a cheap cost and high efficiency. Using the SCAPS-1D program, we looked at a number of factors in this study to maximize the efficiency of a CIGSe-based solar cell, including the absorber layer’s thickness, acceptor concentration, and the impact of the metal work function. Also looked at was the impact of the operating temperature. Performance parameters of PCE of $29.82 \%$, FF of $84 \%$, VOC of 0.82 V, and JSC of $43.3 \mathrm{~mA} / \mathrm{cm} 2$ were optimal for the proposed cell configuration. The findings of this research might be useful in the creation of highly efficient thinfilm solar cells (CIGSe).
