A Rescue Aid for Hazardous Situations

A human rescue aid robot is a type of robot designed to assist in rescue and emergency situations where human lives may be at risk. Disasters such as earthquakes, storms, floods, fires, wars, bombings, and terrorist attacks cause considerable property damage and loss of life. Timely support can save many lives, but human entry into these dangerous areas is risky. Compact aerial vehicles can navigate debris, gathering and transmitting data to ground control stations. Data should be displayed on a user-friendly interface and the bot should be controllable via hand gestures, joysticks, or other methods. These compact, agile bots, equipped with cameras, microphones, thermal sensors, and manipulators, improve rescue operations while reducing human risk. The proposed system features a wireless, long-range bot with low communication latency, capable of recording temperature, humidity, and air quality. Data is transmitted to a ground station via an I2C bus with varying frequencies. A Human Machine Interface (HMI) is used to control and receive information from the bot. The proposed human rescue assistance robots have the potential to greatly improve the effectiveness and speed of rescue operations, enabling responders to find and assist those in need as soon as possible while lowering the risk to human life.
