High-Performance MMIC Phase Shifter with Low Insertion Loss for 5G Applications

This paper presents the design and analysis of a phase shifter line for a double-balanced mixer with signal rejection. The phase shifter operates at 28 GHz and utilizes gallium arsenide (GaAs) transmission lines to generate four output signals with the same frequency. Each output experiences a progressive 90° phase shift relative to the previous one. This functionality is crucial for the double mixer’s operation, which downconverts a 2 GHz intermediate-frequency (IF) signal to a 26 GHz radio frequency low sideband (RFL).
