Securing Drones with Blockchain-Enabled Privacy-Preserving Authentication

The proliferation of drones in various industries has raised concerns about the security and privacy of their operations. To address these concerns, this paper proposes a novel approach for securing drones through blockchain-enabled privacypreserving authentication. Traditional authentication methods often suffer from vulnerabilities and lack adequate privacy protection mechanisms. In contrast, blockchain technology offers a decentralized and immutable ledger that can enhance the security and privacy of drone authentication systems. In our proposed approach, each drone is equipped with a unique digital identity stored on a blockchain network. Authentication requests are processed through smart contracts, ensuring tamper-resistant verification while preserving the privacy of drone operators and their sensitive data. By leveraging blockchain’s cryptographic techniques and decentralized consensus mechanisms, our solution establishes a secure and transparent authentication framework for drones without compromising privacy. Furthermore, our approach enhances the resilience of drone networks against unauthorized access and malicious attacks. The decentralized nature of blockchain prevents single points of failure and mitigates the risk of data breaches or system compromises. Additionally, the immutability of blockchain transactions provides a reliable audit trail, enabling efficient traceability and accountability in drone operations.
