Low Profile Absorber of Triple Band Metamaterial for RCS Reduction in C and X Band

Ultra-thin metamaterial absorbent design exhibiting triple band characteristics has been presented for C and X band applications. The unit cell consists of a closed and split square loop connected together with square patches at corners along with a modified square loop in center printed on dielectric substrate supported by copper layer. It offers a triple band response with the resonant frequencies of 4.2 GHz, 9.0 GHz and 10.9 GHz respectively with an electrical size of $0.14 \lambda_{0} \times 0.14 \lambda_{0} \times 0.01 \lambda_{0}$, at $f_{0}=4.2 \mathrm{GHz}$. Moreover, it shows an absorption greater than $80 \%$ for a wide angle of incidence of 60 degrees for TE and TM polarizations.
