PV Array Reconfiguration Using Futoshiki Puzzle to Extract Maximum Power Under Partial Shading Condition

Solar Photovoltaic technology stands at the forefront among various renewable energy sources and experiencing widespread commercialization to meet the rising demand for electrical energy. The issue of partial shading poses a significant challenge in photovoltaic systems, impacting their energy yield substantially. This study explores the dispersion of shading through a static array reconfiguration technique, inspired by the principles of Futoshiki puzzles, for a 6x6 solar array. To evaluate the performance enhancements achieved by implementing Futoshiki-based array reconfiguration, a detailed theoretical calculation and its validation are provided through the MATLAB-SIMULINK simulation platform. A comprehensive evaluation, considering various performance indices such as fill factor, mismatch losses, performance ratio and enhanced power generation, emphasizes the effectiveness of the proposed technique in comparison to existing alternatives.
