Understanding Patient Perspectives on Mhealth Adoption in Morocco: Willingness, Interest, and Reasons

Health technologies have garnered significant interest due to their potential to revolutionize the delivery of healthcare. It has a notable impact on public health, especially in developing countries with a severe shortage of clinical resources and healthcare infrastructure. This study aims to investigate Moroccan patients’ willingness and interest in the use of mobile health technologies. This study was conducted in 2023 in Morrocco. In total, 263 patients from four hospitals were asked to complete a questionnaire. $38 \%$ were aged between 46 and 55 years. More than two-thirds of the patients included in the study (76%) were very interested or somewhat interested in using remote medical monitoring applications and $88 \%$ of them were willing to use such an application. Willingness and interest to use Mhealth were at a good level however there were concerns regarding the security of health data and technical difficulties. Robust data security, user-friendly design, and adequate support are essential for maximizing the benefits of mHealth and ensuring its widespread adoption.
