Monogenic wavelet-based filtering for optical fringe Patterns denoising

In this paper, the foundation of the framework for steerable and reversible 2D wavelets is explored. We focused on a practical design of wavelet frames in 2D. The steerable wavelets are obtained using a 2D version of the generalized Riesz transform to a primary isotropic wavelet frame. The introduced transform is self-reversible and can be efficiently rotated in a 2D direction by forming the appropriate linear combination. Furthermore, the basis primal functions provide steerable filterbanks. We present a study of the steerability of filterbanks and perform a comparison of the proposed isotropic primal wavelets used for filterbank design and their robustness in fringe patterns denoising.
